It's Sunday 2.30 pm. Although overcast, there's been little to no rain this morning and light rain this afternoon so far. The river height is dropping and although the two lowest bridges are still impassable, they could possibly be clear enough for people to make a dash out to Thora Store at perhaps around 5.00 this evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting rain later today and overnight which they say could bring the river height up once again. And rain is predicted into next week.
The SES are hedging their bets and taking the opportunity that the lighter rainfall offers them today, to safely deliver food and other essential supplies by helicopter to the people still stranded up river, including us.
Coco's here, still unable to get to the airport at Coffs to catch a flight home to Sydney to begin work on Monday.
